Addendum Bangkok

Hi everybody,

right, as Stevie already said, Bangkok was a huge ripoff. At least during daytime, it isn't a very pleasant place to be. If you manage to come across a nice pagoda or some other tourist attraction you always have to keep one eye on your valuables and the other on the armada of tuktuk drivers or cd/t-shirt/food vendors trying to corner you.
If the Thai Mafia was as organized as their Taylors or Taxi Drivers it would be only a question of time till they'd rule the world...

I'd go as far as saying that the best part about Bangkok was the kamikaze drive back to the airport with our driver dodging cars, pillars and all rationality in a Steve McQueen - like manner. (At least I have been told so, being fast asleep in the backseat almost the whole drive.)

To avoid doing Bangkok wrong I have to admit that its buzzing rush hour traffic and the flair of backpacking's hotbed gave us thrills from time to time. But looking back, as we have already had a taste of Hanoi, all three of us would rather eat a dog than swapping Hanoi for Bangkok. But maybe that's a bad analogy in our case... :))
