One Night in Bangkok

To be correct: We had 3 nights in Bangkok, 5 nights on an island only a few bus hours from Bangkok, and then our final night in Bangkok before heading off to New Zealand.

Thailand wasn't really on our tight schedule, but we wanted to give Pez an adequate good bye before Christmas.
The farewell to Peter was briefer than we wanted it to be, but at least this spared us the awkward moment of sentimental speeches ;)

The spare time to our flight on the 29th was easily killed on Koh Samet. It was a spontaous decision to go to this island, of all, as it was said to be somwhere in the golden mean on a scale between Goa-Party and Robinson's Island.
Still, this year we had more firework on Christmas than on New Years Eve. Partly due to the excessive and monstrous Chinese firecrackers sold to everybody of any age on Koh Samet, and partly due to Aucklands restrictive stance on fireworks in public.
