The Wild Wild West Part 2

Waving back to Franz Josef, we hit the road again, following the West Coast down South until the beginning of the Fjordland National Park. The latter is not accessible by car from this side, and we had a date there one week later anyway, so we climbed the dizzying 500m-Haast Pass in order to conquer the inland of the southern South Island.

But before this, we took advantage of the unusually good weather for this region and decided to walk on the wild side for a while, turning off towards Jackson Bay on a dead-end street, that turns into a gravel road after some time. Insurance is only effective on sealed roads - made no real difference for us. ;) So we remorselessly enjoyed the once again miscellaneous types of landscapes that were expanding past our car windows.
